1. Introduction
AI, Choose for Me! ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Photos and Images
	•	How Collected: When you grant permission, we access your device's camera and photo library to capture or select images for AI decision-making.
	•	How Used: Images are temporarily converted to base64 format and sent to OpenAI's GPT-4o Vision API for AI analysis. Images are processed to provide recommendations and explanations.
	•	Storage: Images are stored locally on your device only. We do NOT upload images to cloud storage. When you save a decision, images are copied to your device's local storage. Only image file paths (URIs) and decision metadata (text descriptions, AI responses) are stored in our database.
	•	Retention: Images remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. Decision metadata stored in our database is retained until you request deletion or your account is deleted.
2.2 Device Information
	•	Device Identifier: We generate and store a unique device identifier (UUID) using secure storage on your device. This identifier is used to:
	•	Link your device to your account in our system
	•	Manage subscription status
	•	Track credit usage for free users
	•	Provide personalized app functionality
	•	Device Model and OS: We may collect your device model and operating system version for compatibility and support purposes.
	•	IP Address: Your IP address is automatically collected by our servers when you make API requests, but is not stored long-term.
2.3 Audio Data (Speech-to-Text)
	•	How Collected: If you grant microphone permission, we may record audio for speech-to-text transcription.
	•	How Used: Audio is processed locally on your device using the native iOS/Android speech recognition APIs. The transcription happens entirely on your device — audio is NOT sent to any external servers or third-party services. The transcribed text is used as your decision description.
	•	Retention: Audio is processed in real-time and is NOT stored. Only the transcribed text may be saved as part of your decision metadata if you choose to save the decision.
	•	Third-Party Services: We do NOT use OpenAI Whisper API or any cloud-based transcription services. All speech recognition is performed locally on your device using the operating system's built-in speech recognition capabilities.

2.4 User Account Information
	•	Account Type: The App uses device-based identification. We do NOT collect:
	•	Email addresses
	•	Names
	•	Phone numbers
	•	Passwords
	•	Account Data: We store only:
	•	A unique device identifier (UUID)
	•	Subscription status (Pro or Free)
	•	Credit balance (for free users) and for additional tokens purchase.
	•	Decision history metadata (text only, not images)
2.5 Usage Analytics
	•	Event Logging: We maintain custom event logs in our database to track:
	•	Feature usage (decisions made, subscriptions purchased)
	•	Credit transactions
	•	App performance metrics
	•	Third-Party Analytics: We do NOT use third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or Mixpanel). All analytics are handled through our own custom logging system.
2.6 Subscription and Payment Information
	•	How Collected: Subscription purchases are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system, managed by RevenueCat.
	•	Data Shared: We receive subscription status, purchase dates, and subscription expiration dates from RevenueCat. We do NOT have access to your payment method details, which are handled entirely by Apple.
	•	Storage: Subscription status and related metadata are stored in our database to manage your Pro account features.
2.7 AI Preferences
	•	What We Collect: If you customize AI decision-making preferences (creativity level, decision scope), these settings are stored locally on your device only.
	•	Privacy: Creative level is NEVER uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties. They remain exclusively on your device.
2.8 Decision History
	•	What We Store: When you save a decision, we store:
	•	Text descriptions you provide
	•	AI-generated explanations and recommendations
	•	Timestamps
	•	Image files (copied to your device's local storage)
	•	Image file paths (local device paths only)
	•	Decision mode used (pick best photo or pick within)
	•	Additional metadata (category feedback, improvement ideas, etc.)
	•	Storage Location: Decision data is stored exclusively on your device:
	•	Decision metadata (text, timestamps, etc.) is stored in your device's local storage (AsyncStorage)
	•	Images are copied to your device's document directory
	•	We do NOT store decisions in any cloud database or remote server
	•	Decisions are NOT synced across devices
	•	Retention: Decisions are stored locally until you:
	•	Delete them manually within the App
	•	Uninstall the App (which removes all local data)
	•	The App automatically keeps only the 50 most recent decisions (older decisions are automatically deleted when the limit is exceeded)
	•	Privacy: Since decisions are stored only on your device, we have no access to your decision history. Your decisions remain private and are never transmitted to our servers.


3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:

4. How We Share Your Information
Updated Section 4.1 (Third-Party Service Providers):
OpenAI (AI Processing)
	•	What Data: Your photos (converted to base64) and text descriptions are sent to OpenAI's API for AI analysis.
	•	Purpose: To generate AI-powered recommendations and explanations.
	•	Data Retention by OpenAI: According to OpenAI's current policy, images sent via API are NOT used for training AI models. They may be retained for abuse monitoring purposes (typically up to 30 days) but are not used for model training.

Note: Audio transcription is NOT sent to OpenAI. Speech-to-text is handled entirely by your device's native operating system.
Supabase (Cloud Database)
	•	What Data: User identifiers (device ID), subscription status, credit balances, and event logs. We do NOT store decision history, images, or decision metadata in Supabase.
	•	Purpose: To store and manage your account data (subscription status, credits) and app usage analytics (event logs).
	•	Data Location: United States – East (North Virginia). Our primary database infrastructure is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the US East (North Virginia) region (us-east-1). Some services (such as edge functions and content delivery) may operate from geographically distributed locations to optimize performance, while core user data is stored in this region.

RevenueCat (Subscription Management)
	•	What Data: Device identifier, subscription status, purchase events.
	•	Purpose: To manage subscription purchases, renewals, and status synchronization.

	•	What Data: Subscription purchases are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system.

4.2 We Do NOT:
	•	Sell your data to third parties
	•	Share your data for advertising purposes
	•	Use tracking technologies for cross-app tracking (we have disabled App Tracking Transparency as we do not track users across apps)
	•	Upload your images to cloud storage (images remain on your device only)
4.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government regulation, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users.

5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
	•	Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers uses HTTPS encryption.
	•	Encryption at Rest: Our database (Supabase) encrypts data at rest.
	•	Secure Storage: Device identifiers are stored using iOS Keychain (SecureStore) and Android Keystore for maximum security.
	•	Row-Level Security: Our database uses Row-Level Security (RLS) policies to ensure users can only access their own data.
	•	No Image Cloud Storage: Your images are never uploaded to cloud storage, remaining exclusively on your device.
However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention and Deletion
6.1 Retention Periods
	•	Images: Stored on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App.
	•	Decision History: Stored locally on your device only. Automatically limited to 50 most recent decisions. Older decisions are automatically deleted when the limit is exceeded. All decisions are permanently deleted when you uninstall the App.
	•	Event Logs: Retained for analytics and debugging purposes, typically for up to 2 years.
	•	Subscription Data: Retained as required by law for financial record-keeping (typically 7 years in some jurisdictions).
6.2 Your Right to Delete
You can request deletion of your data by:
	•	Local Data: Uninstalling the App will remove all locally stored data (images, preferences, saved decisions).
	•	Server Data: Contact us at office@sinrhia.net to request deletion of your account and all associated data from our servers.

7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
7.1 Access and Portability
	•	View Your Data: You can view your decision history within the App (stored locally on your device).
	•	Export Your Data: Currently, there is no built-in export feature, but you can share individual decisions as PDFs. Since decisions are stored locally, you can also access them through your device's file system if saved by the user.

7.2 Correction
	•	You can re-evaluate or delete saved decisions/history within the App.
7.3 Deletion
	•	Delete individual decisions/history within the App
	•	Request complete account deletion by contacting us
7.4 Permission Management
You can revoke permissions at any time through your device settings:
	•	iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone, Camera, Photos
	•	Android: Settings > Apps > AI, Choose for Me! > Permissions
Revoking permissions may limit certain App features.
7.5 Opt-Out Options
	•	Analytics: Our custom event logging is essential for app functionality and cannot be opted out of, but it does not track you across other apps or websites.
	•	AI Processing: AI processing is core to the App's functionality. If you do not wish to use AI features, you may simply not use those features.

8. Children's Privacy
Our App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information.

9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. When we transfer data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including:
	•	Standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission
	•	Adequacy decisions where applicable

	•	Right to Access: You can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
	•	Right to Rectification: You can request correction of inaccurate data.
	•	Right to Erasure: You can request deletion of your personal data.
	•	Right to Restrict Processing: You can request that we limit how we use your data.
	•	Right to Data Portability: You can request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
	•	Right to Object: You can object to certain types of processing.

	•	Speech Recognition: To convert your voice to text (optional)
All permissions are optional and can be revoked through device settings. The App will function with limited features if permissions are denied.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will:
	•	Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
	•	Post the updated policy on our website at https://aichooseforme.app/privacy
	•	Make the updated policy accessible through the App's Settings screen (Legal section)
How to Stay Informed:
	•	Check the "Last Updated" date when you access the Privacy Policy through the App's Settings screen
	•	Review the Privacy Policy periodically for any changes
	•	Material changes will be indicated by an updated "Last Updated" date
Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. If you do not agree with the changes, you may stop using the App and request deletion of your data as described in Section 6.2.

	•	AI Accuracy: We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI recommendations. AI is a tool to assist your decision-making, not a replacement for your judgment.
	•	Not for Critical Decisions: Do not use AI recommendations for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions. Always consult with qualified professionals for such matters.
	•	AI Data Usage: OpenAI does not use your images or audio for training their AI models. Your data is used only for generating responses to your specific requests.
15.2 Data Ownership
	•	Your Photos: You retain full ownership of all photos you capture or select. We do not claim any rights to your images.
	•	AI Recommendations: AI-generated recommendations are provided as a service. You own the output and can use it as you wish.

We do not track you across other apps or websites. We have disabled App Tracking Transparency (ATT) as we do not engage in cross-app tracking.
